We pride ourselves on the relationships we develop between staff and parents. Learning starts at home and we provide support and a culture which enables all staff and parents to communicate in an open and honest way. Our Home Learning policy reflects this and is designed to encourage the parents of our pupils to be involved in and help make decisions about the education of their children.
We hope to work with parents to:
- develop an effective learning partnership between home and school;
- ensure that children learn to approach a task confidently and independently;
- encourage children to practice their reading, writing and number skills;
- encourage children to share what they have learned at home with others.
Children at Hitherfield are expected to do the home learning tasks set by their teacher unless they are undertaking another learning activity organised by their parents.
